Hi everyone,
it has been more than a year since our last announcement regarding community management, it's a bit longer than we would've like. But we feel like the changes from last year was a success inn our goal of better moderation.
However we can always get better, and we are happy to announce that we have added 4 new members to our moderation team: @Phil (aka "isofruit", "PhilippMDoerner" or "P D"), @pietroppeter, @ringabout (aka "sindaka", "charmclue") , @Yepoleb (aka "gabrielhuber"). They have been made moderators across all of our platforms (this Forum, Discord, Matrix, IRC, Github, Telegram, Reddit) and they will work with the existing moderators to make our channels welcoming places where everybody feels encouraged to discuss Nim, its ecosystem and community and their evolution. We want to remind everyone that you can submit feedback or questions using this google form (accessible to all of the moderators), but you can also reach any of the moderators directly through private messaging supported on some of the above platforms.
Along with this change, we are also expanding our scope from moderation to broader aspects of community building. Note that this does not mean stricter moderation, we believe our moderation practices have worked well and will continue as usual. We are still organizing ourselves and we will make more announcements later on, in the meantime @ringabout started raising some ideas in this RFC. In short we want to make clearer distinctions as to who are responsible for which pieces of Nim community infrastructure, and to spread it more around to alleviate single point of failure issues. And to improve all of the various parts that make up our community.
Join me in welcoming our new members and let us know your thoughts and hopes for a bright Nim future!
