  Not long ago I discovered this small language called Nim and liked the overall language design and the small yet responsive community around it. Retrospectively, 2020 was a good year for Nim with a few highlights despite the whole Covid situation:

  • new and interesting libraries emerged,
  • ARC/ORC were introduced to Nim's compiler
  • and we had the first NimConf just back in June.

  I would love to see NimConf 2021 to happen, as this small vitual event allowed us to get deeper insights into awesome projects and to get to know the developers behind them. My perception might be deceptive but the community seemed to have grown quite a bit this year. But others might be better to assess that.

  Nonetheless, I'm exited to see how the Nim and it's community will continue to evolve in 2021. Happy New Year to everyone.
