5573 :: Advantages of "from... X... import Y" over "import Y"?

  Basically, this is the question:

  Is there any reason I should use "from X import Y", other than avoiding namespace collisions?

  Only advantage is avoiding namespace collisions and the fact that the reader of the source code can easily see the origin of the symbols.
