  Hey!

  Been working on Beenim which is an native Matrix cross platform client written in mostly Nim (with a little bit of Go & Rust). Currently its early in development but it does support WhatsApp and Discord at the moment with the basic functionality. Some things on the roadmap in near future is encryption also in the content send over WhatsApp / Discord itself which means that Discord won't be able to read the messages at all, and also image exif data removal and similar and also more bridges such as Messenger support.

  Stack used:

  • Website is using Astro hosted at Cloudflare
  • WhatsApp bridge is using Go (mautrix) (WIP to write it in Nim)
  • Discord bridge is fully nim-based
  • GUI is using Slint with FemtoVG GPU rendering (bindings)

  Are you planning to open-source this?

  Also, why is the primary community for a "matrix client" on discord?

  Bridges will be open sourced and I am still looking how to do it best way possible for the client itself.
