Since some time I get terminal color codes with nim compiler. How to switch that off per command-line and/or config switch?

I had put is as an option disabled by default. Did @nanoant change it?

Using --stdout will turn it off.

Oh yes, this is me who enabled colors on capable terminals by default. And this is my fault, coz I always thought it is --useColors:on|off, but apparently this compiler option --useColors only turns that on, and there is no way to turn it off directly, so I'll push some PR soon.

While we're at it, I think --colors:on|off is more consistent with the other switches like hints, warnings etc.

After this thread I changed my IDE to use "--stdio" but that outputs ESC[0m with newer builds. This does not happen with --colors:off though. I guess for --stdio there should also not be additional ESC codes.
