SESCO, a commodities (largely electricity) proprietary trading firm, is looking to hire Nim programmers!
Unlike many other markets, electric supply and demand must be instantaneously matched. As a result, market operators (called ISOs/RTOs), print prices based on the results of large, constrained optimization problems whereby power balance (and other concerns like equipment limits, emissions, etc) must be satisfied. Marketers like us participate in this partial-information game by speculating in auctions based on our analysis of the future conditions of the system. Work would include implementing power-systems simulations, high-performance storage & access for the variety of relevant market data, inference in auctions, etc.
If you are interested, please contact [email protected] & we look forward to hearing from you!
