  Someone recently told you that the announcement on the homepage is very confusing as the 1.2.8 has a more recent date.

  Oh no, somebody somewhere was "confused", that never happened before, we need to stop what we're currently doing and update our website immediately and explain that 1.2.8 is the successor of 1.2.6 and was released later than 1.4.0 because that's how bugfix releases work.

  Well, Mr. sschwarzer was able to explain it very well:

  Versions 1.2.8 and 1.0.10 are maintenance releases for 1.2 and 1.0, respectively. These may be needed if you have high backward compatibility requirements.

  thx for u reply. There's something wrong with me when i try to compile my program with version 1.4.0 on CentOS 6.9, i can't use -d:ssl option, it shows me an error like this: "could not import: X509_check_host", i have search the error on goole and some people said because my openssl is too old, but my openssl is OpenSSL 1.1.1d 10 Sep 2019. when i try to use version 1.2.8 with -d:nimDisableCertificateValidation and -d:ssl , my program is work perfectly. so i was confused.
