6440 :: What is <//>?

  Last time in several places I meet this combination of symbols. For example there https://github.com/nim-lang/fusion/blob/master/src/fusion/btreetables.nim#L872 It is not Google friendly combination, so that both my tries gives me no result.

  Can someone explain what is this and the purpose of this?

  when defined(nimOwnedEnabled) and not defined(nimscript):

  The <//> template marks the type as owned.

  else:

  Does nothing.

  It's dead code and we should remove it.

  Keywords are hard to add in a backward compatible way because they break bootstrapping so those symbols are used as a transition until bootstrapping is done with a Nim version that supports the owned keyword.
