Are we going to try and organise this again for next year?
Deadline is 2nd of November! https://fosdem.org/2019/news/2018-08-10-call-for-participation/
So I (and Araq to some extent) have decided to not bother this year. 1.0 is the priority right now and from what we've seen of last year a stand didn't seem like the best way to get people on board.
We can still have a meetup at FOSDEM if people want to head out there, or we can organise another meetup somewhere else (London maybe? :P)
Btw there is a number of devrooms that I think have a chance of accepting a Nim talk if someone is brave enough. A good place to start might be the Python devroom. I think in general a talk would be a better way to get more Nim users and FOSDEM would be a great place for that.
Maybe something related to Python & Nim integration? E.g. yglukhov's nimpy (or stuff like nimtorch) might be interesting for a diverse set of developers (Python, Nim, ML).
Several months ago I toyed with the idea of a short py2nim talk for python events, but we haven't had time to actually work on the tool itself, so it's still kinda pointless.
