  A comment on Scite: the editor support page says that nimrod support is out-of-the-box. Today I downloaded the Scite editor for Windows (the full zip version), and .nim files do not work, in the sense that the Compile option is not activated. (It is for .c etc)

  There is a file within my Scite folder called nimrod.properties but this does not seem to have been integrated.. The language list in scite shows:

  matlab others pascal

  Maybe there is some scite magic which incorporates it|?

  What a coincidence...I just came here to ask the same question. I too use a default SciTe for my OS (3.3.5/FreeBSD) and I too miss nimrod.

  I managed to get it. The manual wrote that I should edit user properties file and enter: include nimrod

  It didn't work. However, in the global config I found an option: imports.exclude=(...lots of stuff) I removed nimrod from the list and it started to work.

  I also edited: source.files to make scintilla recognise .nim
