  Why are some of the procs only available to nimscript (getHomeDir, getTempDir, etc), but weren't made available in nim?

  Well what exactly are you missing? Most missing stuff from os.nim is rather hard to support in the VM.

  Oops, didn't read the top of the doco. (didn't realise should import os for nim, but ospaths for nimscript).

  Make things idiot proof, and the world builds better idiots :-)
