2301 :: Version 0.14.0 released!

  Just in case you didn't notice, a new major version has been released.

  It's been a while since the last release, but we've been very busy in the meantime. In addition to working on Nim we have started a BountySource campaign and announced the pre-release of a new Nim book titled Nim in Action. Our BountySource campaign has already been very successful, helping us raise enough funds to surpass 4 of our monthly goals.   We told you , people are looking at you! Keep it up! Also try to find some real (VC/Angle) funding for Nim will be a good idea vs BountySource.

  Honestly, I feel like the getType update was made just for me, makes me feel special :). Now I can stop working with my fork of nim, and I can compile my project with a vanilla nim compiler again.

  splitDecimal (new proc in math.nim) just splits a number into integral and fractional parts, not dealing with its numerical notation. So the name is misleading, something like splitFraction should be better.

  @LeuGim I am not a native speaker, but what is wrong with splitDecimal? I do not see anything that has to do with numerical notation, it splits at the decimal point

  @andrea Seeing the name splitDecimal I thought about a function splitting by decimal places, say 123 -> (100,20,3). E.g. splitHexadecimal by analogy would make 123 -> (112,11). "Decimal" just means "with base 10". And "decimal point" is a part of notation (written representation) anyway, floating-point values have no point in them (the function doesn't take a string as its argument). Well, there's an imaginable point, then maybe splitByPoint (no confusiong "decimal" in the name, as it's not related anyhow to radix of 10)?

  I think we have mod in Nim, so name modf may be fine as in C++

  +1 for modf. Not very informative, but it's hard to find a good name for that function. Yet it's less to type, easy to remember (because short), and is known already for some people.

  @andrea I am working on this project here: https://github.com/krux02/opengl-sandbox It should make the work with OpenGL much more convenient and less error prone thanks to nim macros and reflection that generate all the error prone and tedious binding stuff. Unfortunately the new nim version is incompatible with the vector/matrix library that I was using :/ and my time at the moment is rather limited since I am now working on my Master Thesis. But I will make it compatible as soon as I can find some time to fix the incompatibilities.
