Thanks to @federico3 the NimForum will now relay new threads and posts to the Nim mailing list available here: http://www.freelists.org/archive/nim-dev/
You can subscribe to that mailing list to receive all threads and posts via email automatically. You will not however be able to reply to posts through it though.
Feedback as always welcome. If this is too noisy and you guys would prefer to keep it away from that mailing list then please let me know. Also, if there are any bugs let me know too!
A problem I have with the change is that posts are not properly threaded. This completely clutters the Mailbox folder and also makes it more or less impossible to follow conversations. I simply unsubscribed, since the Nim mailing list has practically no traffic, anyway, but it would be nice if one could keep following both.
I'm also not sure if everybody is happy with their mail address being revealed to the Nim mailing list when they post (I personally don't mind, but I suspect that some people may care).
Looking back at the original post where nim-dev was announced it seems the choice of freelist was arbitrary. Should we consider using mailman, google groups or ... ?
There was a short discussion on nim-dev about using google groups and this post indicates google groups could be viable.
