The recent request for a nimforum dark theme reminded me that I should probably upload and share the custom theme that I created for the forum a while back.
It was hacked together pretty quickly so it's not perfect but it does the job.
I added a dark color palette and changed the layout a bit. There are also some opinionated things like removing the columns on the homepage that I don't care about. Should be pretty easy to alter if you want to change it to your personal tastes.
I use the Stylus browser extension.
After installing the extension (Chrome, Firefox), navigate to https://forum.nim-lang.org/, click "Write style for forum.nim-lang.org" and paste in the theme.css from the repo.
I think it would be best if nimforum allowed each user to simply insert whatever CSS they wanted to, so like I could make my own CSS stylesheet, go to my profile and insert it so every session I have, will be running that CSS.
Just a thought
Too much freedom is a curse. The outcome it would achieve can be attained by using a client-side extension like Stylus.
This dark theme is awesome, by the way.
Is there a Stylus equivalent for WebKit based browsers?
A quick search suggests Cascadea for Safari on MacOS. It looks like Stylus might work in Safari but unfortunately not supported by the team and you'd have to do some manual setup.
This dark theme is awesome, by the way.
Thanks!
